Turn Something Negative into Something Positive: Outdoor advertising campaign to promote the advantages of making mistakes. Through illustrating famous ‘Happy Accidents’, the viewer can see that a negative situation can produce a positive outcome, often better than the one they had originally intended to achieve.
'In 1492, Christopher Columbus set sail for Asia. He accidentally went the wrong way... and discovered America.'
This poster is situated upside down, grabbing attention by being 'the wrong way'.
'In 1666, an apple fell from a tree. It accidentally hit Isaac Newton on the head... and he discovered gravity.'
This poster is situated on the floor, grabbing attention through demonstrating the effects of gravity.
'In 1929, Alexander Fleming left a window open. Airborne spores accidentally contaminated his bacterial experiment... and he discovered penicillin.'This is an outdoor poster, with the bottom right-hand corner blowing in the wind. Only when it lifts can the viewer see the explanatory text, demonstrating the importance of the wind.
Press campaign to encourage creative professionals to volunteer their time and expertise and become mentors for youths affected by gun and knife crime. The concept takes its inspiration from Malcolm Gladwell's book, 'The Tipping Point', which illustrates ways that situations can be 'tipped' from one extreme to another when people join in and follow a trend, as such. The word 'point' is exploited throughout the campaign, with reference to the subject area: gun-point and knife-point.
